Good News for Natural Gas Vehicles
According to a new report published by the folks over at Navigant Research, there’s likely to be about 35 million natural gas vehicles on the roadways by 2020. This year, we’re just over 18 million.
I certainly agree that we’re going to see more and more natural gas vehicles on the roads in the very near future, although I suspect most of these will be trucks and buses, with passenger cars likely to be monopolized by fleets, not individual owners. On the trucks and buses side, Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) and Westport Innovations (NASDAQ:WPRT) are the primary plays.
